I’ve always loved the cookie dough more than the cookies. The cookies are fine, but give me a bowl of cookie dough, and that’s really where the magic’s at. These cookie dough protein balls are the perfect mix of indulgent and healthy, so you don’t have to feel bad about eating this cookie dough!
I don’t buy cashew butter very often, so I consider these an extra treat! Cashew butter gives these protein balls a sweet base without being overwhelmingly nutty, as well as a good amount of fat and protein. Enjoy these as a pre/post-workout snack, or as an after-dinner sweet treat. Remember that they do have sugar in them (maple syrup and coconut sugar), and while these are more natural sweeteners that are lower glycemic than regular sugar, they are still sweeteners, so don’t eat all the balls in one sitting is all I’m saying.

If you don’t want to buy cashew butter, you can easily make it home by blending cashews until they form a butter. Or, swap out the cashew butter with peanut butter (although they will then have a peanut butter flavor of course).
